Words can break you into million pieces or heal your wounded heart. Words in a person’s mouth can act as a deadly weapon or as a warm embrace from a loving mother.
How many times the words someone addressed to us made us feel hurt? How many times did we tell ourselves words that disempowered us? Also, how many times we came across words or quotes that made us pause and feel we’ve been completely understood?
A few days ago, I discovered a word that made me pause. I felt it described something inside of me that wandered without a shape of his own.
SISU [see – suu]
Extraordinary determination in the face of extreme adversity, and courage that is presented typically in situations where success is unlikely. It expresses itself in taking action against the odds, and displaying courage and resoluteness in the face of adversity; in other words, deciding on a course of action, and then adhering to it even if repeated failures ensue.
I liked this word so much that I wanted to see it more often, so I thought it would be nice to have it as a mobile wallpaper. Then I told myself, why not share with you some of the quotes and sentences I gathered in my diary over the years. I found tremendous help and guidance in the quotes that great people like Albert Einstein, Nelson Mandela or Maya Angelou said. Also, over the years, I created phrases that helped me change my beliefs and restore my mental clarity.
